Your first post brought instant emotional response. I am discovering how my childhood experiences often result in my automatic reactive mode. Either I am defensive or offensive. Recovery teaches me I need to pause and breathe first. I can catch myself now. If I slow down and realize when these childhood feelings are triggered I can respond more rationally.
